Marks, Tracks & Mud Maps

On recent travels and flights over inland Australia, looking down at the landlines and waterways endlessly appearing and disappearing makes you remember the vastness, beauty and harshness of our amazing land.

The descriptive words in the poetry of Lawson and Boak of The Never Never came flooding back, along with memories of my father and his mate’s drawing directions in the dirt or on a scrap of paper, giving each other directions for a road trip, to another town or simply a good fishing spot. These are the influences that have informed this series.
